With the NHL trade deadline fast approaching, I am looking to update this page every 3 hours between 8AM and 11PM.
This page will show ALL rumors regarding ALL teams in the NHL. Stay alert here, or follow on twitter @TMLinsight <---click!

Green highlights w/ underlines are updates

  • Paul Stastny- Colorado has been approached on several occasions regarding Paul Stastny. Toronto and LA seem to be big on him. Avs do not want to move him, but if a great offer is placed...
  • Jean Michael-Liles- Colorado has also been approached with regards to Liles. He is a great puck moving D-man having a very good year. He can bring in some good return. Leafs are very interested in his services, along with a few other NHL teams.
  • Leafs making a big push for Liles. Serious talks pending if McCabe will waive NTC.
  • NYR appear close to having McCabe. This will make dealing Colorado's JM Liles quicker for any teams interested.
  • Matt Duchene a scratch in game on 22/02/2011?
  • Incarcerated Bob says: NYR deal pending sending either New York Ranger Gillroy or Del Zotto out of town. "Big deal."
  •  Del Zotto + Grachev for Mike Richards of the Dallas Stars. -Bob. Also added, they NY won't wait on Dallas, re-opened talks with Avs regarding Stastny.
  • Bryan McCabe- Look for Bryan McCabe to waive his NTC to go to a play off contender as a rental player. A draft pick and a prospect is something the Panthers would love back. New York Rangers seem to be front runners for him. Florida expecting more then what Rangers want to give up. Del Zotto NOT and won't be in any deal. Rangers may have deal in place- pending McCabe if he waives. Expecting a MOVE TODAY- February 26th 2011. UPDATE: Tim Kennedy and a 3rd for McCabe NOW CONFIRMED
  • David Booth- Should not be over-looked by any team, and it appears that he is bringing in some interest from across the league.
  • Stephen Weiss- Also very attractive to many teams.
  • Carolina trying to add some veteran player(s) to their lineup to help them into the playoffs. Look for Ottawa, Florida, and NYR as top targets for Carolina. Cory Stillman of the Panthers was added to the Canes.
  • Jordan Staal: Pens do NOT look to move him, although offers are a plenty. "Burke reached out to the Penguins organization. They (Pens) are embarrassed of what Burke had set Staal's value at."
  • Buffalo very interested in Cody Hodgson of the Canucks. They are expected to offer their first round pick for his services.
  • Brayden Schenn- Looks to be a very sought after player. A player in return would need to be a very "special one" after seeing Schenn's potential. Edmonton and Toronto appear as big pushers, but it's certain there are many others. Look for Schenn to stay put.
  • Clifford or Simmonds COULD be moved. Both have been inquired about. Similar roles and Simmonds could be replaced by Clifford and bring in a good return.
  • Marian Gaborik is out with a concussion, so all trade rumors involving him to a team lacking scoring for a play off run is out the door.
  • TSN report: Brent Seabrook nearing the completion of negotiations giving him a 5 year $30 million contract extension.
  • Atlanta Thrashers- Bogosian not on the market.
  • Pittsburgh: A veteran winger may come in. They are considering moving Alex Goligoski to the Dallas Stars for James Neal. This is ideal for both teams. Complete: Goligoski to Dallas for Neal and Niskanen.
  • Pens also interested in adding Alexei Kovalev from Ottawa. Confirmed deal -Kovalev to Pens for draft pick(s)
  • Toronto Maple Leafs have 2 first rounders in play, and have been offered out with packages.
  • The Leafs need to make a decision on whether to re-sign MacArthur for the money he'll be expecting, $3 million plus, or trade him while his value is high. Kulemin is one of the Leafs many second liners who they'd like to keep, but if it means bringing in a "top dog" like the Leafs are after, he won't hesitate to move him.
  • The Leafs are trying to re-sign Clarke, but at what cost? He is on the table! Burke said he'd trade him if they can't agree to terms.
  • Mike Komisarek and 1st round pick is what Burke asked an NHL team what they'd give in return. Doubtful that it was anything that Burke wanted to hear. He does intend to move both 1st round picks.
  • Burke meeting with Clarke's agent Don Meehan as early as tomorrow. Expect a trade before February 28th if the Leafs and Clarke don't come to terms in the next few days. Sunday noon appears to be the signing deadline for Clarke.  "Brian's had a reputation of being a diligent and tough negotiator, but he understands the industry well - as do we." Don Meehan.
  • Dustin Penner- Bringing in some heated offers. Leafs and Kings are expected to have attempted to get him. It's doubtful the Leafs will land him as Edmonton wants Schenn or Clifford in a deal from LA.
  • Ales Hemsky- Has a very high price tag and he may not get moved until right at deadline day, or in the off-season. Edmonton is in no rush to trade him. Expect LA to be front runners on him. Deal including main players of Hemsky and                     are in place. Awaiting names. 24 hours until small trade details such as picks and prospects are finished including. MORE DETAILS TO COME.
  • Alex Kovalev and Chris Campoli are two Ottawa players who are still likely to be moved for any picks or prospects they can get as assets. Kovalev traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
  • Leafs have inquired about Liles, Campoli, Wideman, and one other defense man yet to be named by my sources.
  • Columbus Blue Jackets- Sellers selling quite a few players such as Voracek and Huselius.
  • Montreal interested in adding some veterans to their line-up for the play off run.
  • Philly pushing at Chris Neil (NTC) and could be done on Sunday.
  • Philly also looking at Scottie Upshall.
  • Pheonix looking at some good depth scoring- Clarke MacArthur is on their radar.
  • MacArthur is also being sought after by the Hawks and possibly the Thrashers.
  • Philly, Tampa, Boston, and San Jose are all still trying to add another piece to gain the upper hand on each other. Vancouver is sitting tight right now holding on to first. If one of those teams pull off another big deal, Vancouver will likely look to grab another player to increase their chances at the cup.
  • Calgary dealing closer to deadline- Not sure who with; likely another team in the west. Someone who brings a veteran presence and can help them on their cup quest and playoff run.
  • Flyers- May be willing to move JVR to get some cap space. Offers and interest a plenty from many teams.
  • Leafs and Flyers have talked. About JVR? Not sure at the moment.
  • Tampa is going for the cup this season, but still would like to get some cap space.
  • Anaheim trying to move a goaltender. Likely is not Hiller. Curtis McHelliney was moved for Dan Ellis.
  • NJD still need to free up space if they have any chance at re-signing Zach Parise and Travis Zajac. One of them COULD be on the move.
  • Brian Rolston is likely to go first while the Montreal Canadiens are interested in Jason Arnott.
  • In a few days, pending Osgood's position, Detroit may add a goaltender. It would happen closer to deadline day though.
  • MISSED DEAL(S)
  • Atlanta Thrashers trade Brent Sopel and Nigel Dawes to Montreal for Ben Maxwell and a 4th round pick.
  • Anaheim Ducks trade Paul Mara to Montreal for 2012 5th round pick.

More to come as the rumors appear. As the day progresses, likely many will be confirmed or shot down so updates will occur!
